Originally inhabited by Wyandotte, Shawnee and Mingo Native American tribes, Pickerington, OH became incorporated in 1808. It is known as the “Violet capital of Ohio” because of the violets blooming in the area. Every summer, the violet festival brings an estimated 25,000 visitors to the city of Pickerington.
Newly renovated, old Pickerington Village chronicles history through its antique shops, Indian artifacts and burial mounds, History buffs would love this charming part of town. The area has plenty of recreational offerings, including 4,700 feet of bike paths, four softball diamonds, four shelter houses, two basketball courts and an amphitheater.
